Previously, Broome County Health Department had a robust Maternal Child Health home visiting nurse program for new families. It was drastically impacted by nursing shortages, & private sector salary. The Welcome Baby program was an innovative way to move forward. This poster will present the updated brochure and a data component to quantify the areas of education & support offered by the Maternal Child Health nurse. 

Death by firearm is the most lethal mean of suicide. Gunlocks serve as an inexpensive first step in safe firearm storage, limiting access to that firearm in the event of a suicide attempt. This initiative sought to overcome barriers people may face in acquiring and using gunlocks in their homes.
