Incidents of mass violence often occur without warning and can happen anywhere, impacting entire communities and our country at large. This webinar examines the prevalence of mass violence in the U.S. We will explore the Fatal Grievance Pathway Model to align with the latest research that suggests most active killers are motivated by a fatal grievance and progress along an identifiable pathway to violence. Finally, we will discuss prevention strategies as next steps for public health practitioners.

At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • describe the scope of mass murder in the U.S.;
  • recount important identification and intervention variables to prevent mass murder; and
  • summarize the next steps in research and practice.
