On September 14 and 15, 2022, please join us for the second annual statewide Overdose Awareness Days (OAD) co-sponsored by the New York State Department of Health and the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports.
This community-led, virtual two-day event will honor the lives of individuals lost to overdose and recognize people, providers and programs working to reduce stigma and overdose in New York State.

Seek Photo Submissions for Slideshow for Sept 14
We will honor loved ones lost to overdose with a slideshow video. We invite people to share a photograph of a loved one that may be included in this video. Use the online form to upload a photo and give us permission to use the image. We appreciate all submissions, and you will be notified if your image will be included

Suggest Viewing Sites for Hybrid Event Sept 14
We are seeking organizations that can host small, in-person gatherings to experience the first day of the virtual event honoring the lives lost to overdose as well as to recognize the personal and collective achievements of many working to end overdose. This will be on September 14, 3-6 PM. If you know of an organization that can host a local event and has A/V capabilities, please email us at overdose@health.ny.gov to sign-up.

September 14, 2022, 3 – 6 PM for THE PUBLIC AND PROVIDERS A three-hour event to remember people who have died of an overdose and honoring of those who have survived.
September 15, 2022, 11-2 PM for HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICE PROVIDERS SERVING PEOPLE WHO USE DRUGS (PWUD) All people who use drugs, peers and direct service providers are welcome to join this virtual three-hour event to acknowledge and celebrate providers who work with people who use drugs.
