Event: Understanding the Landscape: The Role and Impact of Public Health Nurses Today

ASTHO is launching the Public Health Nursing Learning Lab Series, a virtual space for anyone working in a governmental public health agency, focused on exploring solutions to today’s public health nursing workforce challenges. This interactive series will focus on leadership development, systems thinking, and strategies to strengthen and support the public health nursing workforce.

Participants will learn from one another and share resources and strategies on how to address staffing shortages, burnout, and changing role expectations for public health nurses in governmental public health agencies. 

  • Session 1 (July 23, 3-4 p.m. ET) – Understanding the Landscape: The Role and Impact of Public Health Nurses Today
  • Session 2 (August 27, 3-4 p.m. ET) – Evidence-Based Recruitment and Retention Strategies in Public Health Nursing
  • Session 3 (September 24, 3-4 p.m. ET) – Public Health Nursing Residency Programs and Leadership Pathways
  • Session 4 (October 22, 3-4 p.m. ET) – Leveraging Partnerships to Strengthen the PHN Workforce
  • Session 5 (November 19, 3-4 p.m. ET) – Public Health Nursing Workforce Culture
