This webinar explores how climate change is increasingly influencing nutrition and food security—core determinants of health. This webinar will clarify the central role of food systems in shaping climate resilience, present current research connecting climate variability to nutritional outcomes, and discuss the value of novel data sources for identifying climate-related health risks. It will also make the case for transdisciplinary research and collaboration as essential tools for creating effective, health-focused responses to the growing climate–nutrition crisis.  After the webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Explain why food systems are central to addressing climate change impacts on diets and nutrition  
  • Summarize current research linking climate variability and change to nutritional outcomes
  • Evaluate the role of novel and interdisciplinary data sources in assessing climate-related risks to food security and nutrition
  • Justify the need for transdisciplinary research and solutions in tackling climate–nutrition challenges
