Webinar: Chambers of Commerce: Who They Are and Why They Matter

Chambers of commerce are membership associations comprised of local businesses. Chambers come in all sizes and have different structures depending on the issues and needs in their communities, but they commonly address issues that impact the community at large, generate economic prosperity and help businesses thrive. This means that they understand the perspectives of business owners and can serve as a bridge between the private sector and other segments of a community.

In this webinar, public health departments will learn more about chambers and their priorities. The session will feature examples of high-performing chambers and the roles they are playing to address social determinants of health in their communities. The session will highlight examples of how chambers work with community partners on these issues, including health departments. It will also feature some data on public perceptions of chambers and their role in leading change. Participants will leave with an improved understanding of chambers of commerce's services and priorities, as well as potential opportunities for collaboration to improve outcomes in their communities.
