Anyone can be trained in overdose prevention. By the end of a training, participants are able to:

  • List the benefits of the New York State 911 Good Samaritan Law including the importance of calling emergency medical services;
  • State the signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose;
  • Review the steps on how to respond to an overdose and administer naloxone; and
  • State where to get naloxone, and how to access naloxone using the cost-saving program Naloxone Co-payment Assistance Program (N-CAP).
