We are excited to announce the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) Emerging Infections Program (EIP) will be hosting our annual meetings in Albany, Rochester and Buffalo this September. This year’s agenda includes presentations on a variety of public health topics given by speakers from the NYSDOH, the University of Rochester, the Wadsworth Center Public Health Laboratory, and other partners.
The NYSDOH EIP began as a pilot program in mid-1997 in seven counties in the Rochester area. Since that time, EIP has expanded and now conducts active enhanced surveillance for select enteric diseases, invasive bacterial infections and respiratory viruses in Western, Central and Capital Regions of New York State.
The success of EIP is due in large part to the enormous commitment and dedication of partners at local health departments, clinical laboratories, infection prevention departments, and colleagues from the University of Rochester and the NYSDOH. In a time of shrinking resources and increasing responsibilities, we are extremely grateful to our NYS partners for their continued participation in this public health effort.
Each meeting will be a half day meeting from 9:30 am - 2:30 pm on the following dates:
September 17th: Buffalo, NY
September 18th: Rochester, NY
September 19th: Albany (Schenectady), NY
